Hi jdee672.
-----------------------------------------------------------
There are some Issues with infections in relation to PunkBuster:
Your computer has installed gaming tools. Some of these, like Punkbuster, use spyware techniques to engage in the anti-piracy battle.
In the process, they take control of much of your PC, and they actually meet the definition of spyware/malware.
They are sometimes designed to prevent orderly removal or modification, and they have only limited respect for retaining the overall security and integrity of your machine.
It is not a certainty that your computer can be cleaned without breaking or removing some of these programs, and this would result in not being able to play the associated games, or worse.
Since we are dedicated to causing No Harm, we won't normally work on machines with this type of program installed without explicit permission from the owner.
If you want to continue using the machine in this way, you should consider using imaging software like Norton Ghost or Acronis TrueImage, or Terabyte Image, which can put your entire C: drive back into an earlier state whenever the infections or malfunctions get too severe.

If you really want to clean this machine, I will help, but if you so choose, understand there is NO assurance you will be able to do games afterwards.
If you choose to attempt cleaning, please proceed as follows:
----------------------------------------------------------
Download and Install CCleaner
  • Download the CCleaner Installer from here . Choose the Slim version. You can save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on ccsetupXXX_slim.exe to start the installation of CCleaner. (XXX is the version number)
  • Click OK
  • Click Next
  • Click I agree
  • Click Next
  • Click Install
  • Once the installation has finished, click Finish
You can now delete the installer ccsetupxxx_slim.exe from your desktop.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Set Options in CCleaner and run Cleaning Scan.
Open CCleaner if it's not already running.
Do not use the Registry block to clean anything with this program. It is for experts only and it is risky.
(As a general rule, don't ever use a registry cleaner or "registry optimizer" of any kind on your machine).
  • Select Cleaner Settings.
  • Check All the items in Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.
  • In the System Section, check Empty Recycle Bin, Temporary Files, Clipboard, Memory Dumps, and ChkDsk File fragments.
  • In the Advanced section, don't have anything checked.
  • Click on the Options block on the left. Select Advanced.
Uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
  • Set Cookie Retention.
Click on the Options block on the left, then choose Cookies.
Under the Cookies to delete pane, highlight any cookies you would like to retain permanently (those companies or sites with which you regularly visit or do business), and click the right arrow > to move them to the Cookies to keep pane.
  • Run Cleaning Scan. Click on the Cleaner block on the left. Choose the Windows tab.
Click the Run Cleaner button. This process could take a while. When CCleaner shows how much has been removed, cleaning is finished.
Exit CCleaner by clicking on the X button in the upper right of the CCleaner window.
-----------------------------------------------
Run the RSIT Scanner
Please download the Scanner and save it to your desktop. The icon will be named RSIT.exe
Doubleclick the RSIT icon.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open
log.txt <- this one will be maximized
info.txt <- this one will be minimized
( Default location for both files is C:\rsit\ )
Copy/Paste the contents of both log.txt and info.txt into your next post please. Use two separate replies if you prefer.

So we are looking for the contents of the two logs from the RSIT scanner.

jdee672,
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Registry items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
(Some of these lines may be missing)
O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll
O2 - BHO: Spybot-S&D IE Protection - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - e:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpybotSD TeaTimer] e:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [igndlm.exe] E:\PBM\Download Manager\DLM.exe /windowsstart /startifwork
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {DFB852A3-47F8-48C4-A200-58CAB36FD2A2} - e:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Spybot - Search & Destroy Configuration - {DFB852A3-47F8-48C4-A200-58CAB36FD2A2} - e:\PROGRA~1\SPYBOT~1\SDHelper.dll

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked
Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the HiJackThis window to close it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel(XP)
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :
Adobe Reader 7.1.0
PowerReg Scheduler
uTorrent
Spybot S&D
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into Keeping the program.
--------------------------------------------------------
You should download and install the newest version of the free Adobe Reader for reading pdf files, due to the vulnerabilities in earlier versions.
All versions numbered lower than 9.1 are vulnerable.
  • Go here and click on AdbeRdr910_en_US.exe to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Save this file to your desktop and run it to install the latest version of Adobe Reader.

------------------------------------------------------------
Download the latest version of Java SE Runtime Environment(JRE), and install it to your computer.
It is the 2nd item on the page, called JRE 6 Update 14
Select Windows and multi-language, and check to agree to the license.
Download it, choose Save, and save it to your desktop.
Then doubleclick it, and it will install the newest version of Java for you to use.
------------------------------------------------------
Rooter
Please download Rooter.exe... Copyrighted © by... Eric_71. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click on Rooter.exe icon on your desktop, to execute.
If you receive the "Open File" security warning, press Run. The Rooter interface will appear, with a variety of options displayed.
  • To run the Scan... just press the Scan...button.
  • Notepad will open with a file created called "Rooter.txt" (1st scan) or Rooter_#.txt (subsequent scans) ... located in the %systemdrive%\Rooter$\ folder, (usually C:\Rooter$\). (# is the scan number assigned to the report)
The location of the report file is also shown in the bottom display window.
  • Press the Close button, to close the Rooter window.
Please copy and paste the contents of Rooter.txt in your next reply.
If you have scanned more than once with Rooter, post the log with the highest # number Rooter_#.txt.
--------------------------------------------------------
Also two additional questions:
Tell me what is the PBM Download manager?
Also please tell me what this file is : E:\setup.exe (you can always right click it, choose properties and look for the owner).

Sorry getting back to you so late, I missed your post.

Not sure what E:/setup, I did a search for it (copied the file name you gave me) and didn't find anything.

Also not sure about PBM downloader. "PBM" is the intials of someone who uses this computer and may be some game downloader or something like that. "PBM" doesn't rememeber.

Here is the rooter file.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
