Hello REEDS,

I will be assisting you with your malware issues.

  • Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
  • Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean! If you have any question or you're stuck in there please reply it to me. I will try my best to help you!
  • Please bookmark or favourite this page. In case you need it as reference or etc.
  • If you fail to reply in 5 days period from now, this thread will close, and you will have to open another topic, and wait for another helper.
----------------------------------------------
Download DDS

Download at your desktop DDS from one of the links below:

Link 1
Link 2
  • Double click the tool to run it.
  • A black Screen will open, just read the contents and do nothing.
  • When the tool finish it will open 2 reports.
  • Copy/paste both reports back here and remove DDS from your desktop.
----------------------------------------------
Do you use REGEDIT and making changes to your system youself? This is dangerous as you can create a havoc on your pc, if you don't know what you are doing.
----------------------------------------------
Post back:
DDS report.
Post the latest Malwarebytes report which was created when you run the tool.
You will find it in Logs, Tab.

Hello REEDS,

Do you use REGEDIT and making changes to your system youself?

You didn't answer to my question. I need to know if you did any changes and what.

The computer is clean now within maslware bytes however I turned most options off in msconfig. the computer running slow and sluggish but at lease I can run regedit and CA antivirus will update

It doesn't mean that Malwarebytes removed everything. Enable what you disabled using msconfig please.

Please post Malwarebytes report which shows what was removed from your system. The one you posted found nothing. I want to see what was removed.
----------------------------------------------
REMOVE P2P PROGRAMS

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Person to Person) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

Azureus
LimeWire 4.16.6

Please read the Guidelines for P2P Programs where we explain why it's not a good idea to have them.

Note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P filesharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.

Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red) NOW.

While in Add/Remove Programs please remove also these older versions of Java:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
Java(TM) 6 Update 2
Java(TM) 6 Update 3
Java(TM) 6 Update 5

----------------------------------------------
LIST OF PROGRAMS USING HIJACKTHIS
  • Open HijackThis.
  • Click on Open the Misc Tools section.
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
  • Click on the Save list... button.
  • It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
  • Notepad will open. Please copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply.
See in this link details.

A new HijackThis log after you re-enable items using msconfig.

Regedit...

I was unable to open REGEDIT or anything including hijackthis unless I renamed regedit then I could run and remove the hijackthis key listed in the malwayrebytes log

Re: Cant removed Security.Hijack any help please

Unread postby chryssi2001 » May 27th, 2009, 1:02 pm

Hello REEDS,

I was unable to open REGEDIT or anything including hijackthis unless I renamed regedit then I could run and remove the hijackthis key listed in the malwayrebytes log

Can you please explain what exactly did you do with REGEDIT?

Did you or do you get help in any other forum?

c:\windows\regefix.exe << Do you know what is this file? Did you made any registry fixes yourself?
----------------------------------------------
You posted DDS again, i didn't ask for it. Please post and run only what tools i ask.
----------------------------------------------
Do you know anything about this file?

C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Paul.exe
----------------------------------------------
Upload a File to Jotti
Please visit http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Copy/paste this file and path into the white box at the top:
C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Paul.exe

Press Submit - this will submit the file for testing.
Please wait for all the scanners to finish then copy and paste the results in your next response.
----------------------------------------------
Post back:
Jotti Results.
Explanation what you did with regedit and answer to my questions please.
Did you make any registry fixes/changes?
Do you get windows updates or not?

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
