I recognize one entry that waves bright red flags right off as well as a few others that I find questionable, but first to the general problems. Approximately 4 or 5 days ago, I noticed my processor fan spinning up and maintaining high RPMs consistently for hours, even when the computer was otherwise inactive. The next day, likely after a restart, I began noticing occasionally that the browser seemed to be automagically redirecting itself to sites that might be related to what I had sought, or might simply be related to a keyword associated with my criteria. (Clicking a link for Twilight Alchemy Labs redirected me to a fan info site for the Twilight novel series, including movie/actor news and assorted.) By the end of the day, I was enjoying occasional adverts for virus scanners and removers, particularly AntiVirus Plus, which seems to be nothing more than a ploy.

As of this point, some programs will no longer run, either producing errors and shutting themselves down upon starting, or simply failing to run at all. I have managed to maintain my own computers for years with few real problems and this is the first time that I have had to resort to actually seeking assistance from a community forum. I do have MalwareBytes, which has produced no results in this case, nor does SpyBot and I must admit to being a bit perplexed. That neither is finding anything out of place is rather disquieting to me, and I would appreciate any assistance that may be provided. Thank you for your time, and I do look forward to taking my computer back, dodgy as the poor thing may be.

Cheers.

You aren't running Anti Virus Software

Anti-virus software are programs that detect, cleanse, and erase harmful virus files on a computer, Web server, or network.
Unchecked, virus files can unintentionally be forwarded to others, including trading partners and thereby spreading infection. Because new viruses regularly emerge, anti-virus software should be updated frequently. Anti-virus software can scan the computer memory and disk drives for malicious code. They can alert the user if a virus is present, and will clean, delete (or quarantine) infected files or directories. Please download a free anti-virus software (for personal use), from one these excellent vendors NOW:

1) Antivir PersonalEditionClassic
-Free anti-virus software for Windows.
-Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
2) avast! 4 Home Edition
-Anti-virus program for Windows.
-The home edition is freeware for noncommercial user.
3) AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
- Free edition of the AVG anti-virus program for Windows.
- Available for single computer use for home and non commercial use.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.

Please run a scan with whichever one you chooose see if it picks anything up.

I do not generally like most Antivirus software and generally find that if there is any problem that I cannot fix, my antivirus cannot actually detect it anyway. That said, I downloaded and scanned using both Antivir and Avast!, found nothing and uninstalled them. Whatever the problem is, it is slowly corrupting my files. First, AIM started giving me errors and now SGE (the remote launcher fora text-game that I play) cannot load the client for the game. Here is the info from RSIT, as requested.

Due to a lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
