It appears that some of the procedures you have followed have likely crippled your operating system. If you have an XP CD, then you should be able to fix that. You would need to go into the BIOS setup and change your boot sequence so that the CD drive is first in the boot order. Reboot, allowing the XP CD to start the installation process by striking any key to continue when prompted. When you reach the screen where it notifies you that it has found a Windows installation on your HD and offers to attempt to repair it, select that option.
Once finished, your system should again be able to boot into Windows, but it will still be infected. At that point, you can do one of two things... you can back up any important documents, pictures, and/or other data to CDs or DVDs and then once that is done, reformat your HD and reinstall your operating system, thereby eliminating the malware. If you prefer not to reformat and reinstall your operating system, you should still back up all your data to CDs or DVDs, then open a fresh topic in this Malware Removal room and post a HijackThis log, using the following instructions:
We understand that you are having difficulty running certain programs, including HijackThis. However, in order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a HijackThis log, and it is possible you may be able to trick the malware into letting you do this. First, download HijackThis to a clean computer, then rename it from HijackThis.exe to any other name you want, using an .exe extension, for example... YourLastName.exe. Once you have done that, burn it to a CD (preferable to using a flash drive that may easily become infected) then transfer the renamed file to the infected computer and run a scan, then start a new topic and include your HijackThis log.
Please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your HijackThis log. If you are unable to create and post a HijackThis log, then your only option may be to reformat your computer and reinstall the operating system.
This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the HijackThis Guideline posted here, just be certain to rename HijackThis: >Guideline for posting your HijackThis log<
