My HJT Log - PC Freezes after boot - freezes in safe mode

Unread postby GWood » January 5th, 2009, 1:43 am

This is the Log.
I am doing this for a not so computer literate uncle.
I have used the forum before for my own PC so I am famaliar with quite a few of the basic instructions.

As far as I can tell the symptoms are:
PC Freezes after boot after it displays a pop up message which is obviusly a pornographic pop up,
it also freezes in safe mode after boot.
In safe mode I can bring up the Task Manager(Ctrl+Alt+Del) and start a new explorer task which then closes after about 10 seconds.

Any Help is much appreciated.
Thank You

P.S I believe my uncle used limewire at some point, I have not been able to acces the control panel to remove it at this point.

Re: My HJT Log - PC Freezes after boot - freezes in safe mode

Unread postby Rodav » January 17th, 2009, 6:27 pm

I'm sorry we couldn't help you sooner but as you can see the forums are extremely busy and our volunteer helpers are at full capacity. I'm subscribed to this topic now and will help you with any malware issues you may have, if you still need any assistance.

As it has been a while since you posted last and changes may have been made to your system please run HijackThis in Normal mode and post a new log in your next reply along with a brief description of how your computer is running.

Due to lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
