New PC with Trojan virus

Unread postby snowblaze » November 14th, 2008, 10:55 am

Hi guys, I just bought this new PC a month ago. I have contacted this virus called Trojan Horse PSW.Generic6.AQPD. I did a scan with AVG Anti-Virus Free and 2 files are infected in these locations.
"C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe"
"C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe:\$JF\FlashUtil10a.exe"

Another virus found in my game. Its called Trojan Horse proxy.AEEC which is found in the location "D:\Program Files\Acclaim\2MOONS\bin\succubus.dll"

Please help me with my new PC :( Below is the Logfile.

Hi snowblaze

Those sound like false positives to me.

To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will now be presented with a screen similar to the one below:

Image

5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

BitComet 1.04

I'd like you to read the MRU policy for P2P Programs.

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

Please run a new uninstall list scan when finished and post the log back here.

  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

Note: If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select 'Run as administrator' to perform this scan.

  1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
  5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
  6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  9. Please post this log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Those were likely false positives from AVG which are now fixed.

You can delete rsit and c:\rsit folder.

You can find instructions on how to enable and re-enable system restore here:

    Windows Vista System Restore Guide

Re-enable system restore with instructions from tutorial above

  • Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
