Unread postby Olan » September 29th, 2008, 8:57 am

Hi, i hope you can help. I cant reach many web sites from my PC. If I connect a different Pc to the same router it's fine. Both are dhcp so I'm taking it that DNS is not the issue. I tried a fixed ip but that did not help. Also tried Skybot and AD-Adware.

Hijackthis log attached.

Thanks in advance,
O

Unread postby silver » October 1st, 2008, 12:18 am

Hi Olan,

Please open this page in your browser:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit- ... channel=32

Fill in the link to topic field with a link to this topic
Copy/paste the following into the Browse to the file you want to submit field:
c:\windows\system32\ulsxucrq.exe
Then press Send File, this will upload the file for analysis

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download RSIT by random/random to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As..., select your Desktop and press Save)

  • Double click RSIT.exe to start the program, and click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - log.txt <- this one will be maximized and info.txt <-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of log.txt and info.txt in your reply

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once complete, please post both RSIT logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as RSIT produces one for you.

Re: Some web pages do not load

Unread postby silver » October 2nd, 2008, 10:22 pm

Hi Olan,

Please open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, and remove the following:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
Java(TM) 6 Update 2
Microsoft AntiSpyware
Need2Find Bar
The Java installations are out of date and now a security risk, you can get the latest update (version 6 update 7) from here
Microsoft Antispyware is now outdated, I will advise you on a replacement program when we have finished cleaning.
Need2Find Bar is malware and must be removed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following lines:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ULSXUCRQ] c:\windows\system32\ulsxucrq.exe /install
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - ?p=ZNxdm119KYGB
O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} -
Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open Notepad: press Start->Run, type notepad into the box and press OK
Select Format from the top menu and make sure Word Wrap is NOT checked.
Then, copy/paste the contents of the following code box into Notepad:
Code: Select all
@echo off
dir "C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\Agent\mcupdmgr.exe" /a >> results.txt 2>>&1
dir "C:\WINDOWS\system32\aspimgr.exe" /a >> results.txt 2>>&1
dir "C:\DOCUME~1\Ben\LOCALS~1\Temp\adxapie.sys" /a >> results.txt 2>>&1
del %0

Select File and Save as
Save it to your Desktop as "runme.bat" (you MUST type the quotes)
Locate runme.bat on your Desktop and double-click it.
A black box should open and close after a short time, this is normal.
Another text file should appear on your Desktop called results.txt, do not open it until the black box has closed.
Post the contents of this file in your next response.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open the ESET Online Scanner in Internet Explorer
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use. and click Start
  • Allow the ActiveX control to be installed by Internet Explorer
  • Once the ActiveX has finished loading click Start to initialize and update the scanner
  • When the Computer scan screen appears, leave Remove found threats UN-checked, but check the box next to Scan unwanted applications. Then click Scan to begin the scan.
  • Once complete and the summary page appears, press Start->Run, copy/paste the following command into the box and press OK:
    notepad "C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt"
  • The log file should now appear in Notepad, copy and paste the contents in your next response.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once complete, please post the results.txt output, the Eset scan report and a new HijackThis log.

Re: Some web pages do not load

Unread postby silver » October 3rd, 2008, 9:41 pm

Hi Olan,

Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your Desktop
Check the box marked Select All, then un-check Cookies (unless you want to clean these as well)
Click the Empty Selected button.
Note: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt
Press Exit to close the program

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please open Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, and double-check that you have removed all these programs:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
Java(TM) 6 Update 2
Microsoft AntiSpyware
Need2Find Bar
If there is any problem with removal please let me know.

Re: Some web pages do not load

Unread postby silver » October 6th, 2008, 8:52 pm

Hi Olan,

Open Notepad: press Start->Run, type notepad into the box and press OK
Select Format from the top menu and make sure Word Wrap is NOT checked.
Then, copy/paste the contents of the following code box into Notepad:
Code: Select all
@echo off
if exist "C:\DOCUME~1\Ben\LOCALS~1\Temp\adxapie.sys" goto present >> results3.txt 2>>&1
sc stop adxapie >> results3.txt 2>>&1
sc delete adxapie >> results3.txt 2>>&1
del %0
exit
:present
copy "C:\DOCUME~1\Ben\LOCALS~1\Temp\adxapie.sys" "%userprofile%\desktop\adxapie.sys.vir" >> results3.txt 2>>&1
del %0

Select File and Save as
Save it to your Desktop as "runme.bat" (you MUST type the quotes)
Locate runme.bat on your Desktop and double-click it.
A black box should open and close after a short time, this is normal.
Another text file should appear on your Desktop called results3.txt, do not open it until the black box has closed.
Post the contents of this file in your next response.

Again, if there is a new file created on your Desktop called adxapie.sys.vir please upload it using the previous instructions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As..., select your Desktop and press Save)
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to both of these options:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When finished, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to your Desktop, and post the contents in your reply.
  • The log can also be found here if you need it:
    • Start->All Programs->Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware->Logs

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please make a new RSIT log:
  • Double click RSIT.exe to start the program, and click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • When the scan is complete, one file will open log.txt
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of log.txt in your next response

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once complete, please post the results3.txt output, the Malwarebytes Antimalware report and the new RSIT log - you won't need to make a new HijackThis log as RSIT includes this.
