Very Slow Laptop

Unread postby Mal-function » August 14th, 2008, 10:50 am

Hi all.
My laptop has become very slow without no reason. I didnt mess with ANY settings before it happened. I have also scanned the laptop with AVG Anti-virus, Avira Anti-virus, Spybot search and destroy, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Windows Defender, Windows Malicious Removal Tool, Ad-aware, just to name a few (now they are uninstalled). Some of them found malware/trojans and removed it, but it didnt fix the problem - its still very slow. Recently i checked the Task Manager and found out that svchost.exe process was taking around 90mb, using 100 percent CPU. I went to Services and disabled Automatic Updates and BITS (which is needed by automatic updates). Since then svchost is stable 39mb (its only 20mb on my double more powerful pc). I see some improvement in computer speed, but its still slow. I'm not sure if my laptop is infected with malware or no, because i scanned for it and removed all that could be found. Maybe I should disable some services, processes, or uninstal programs? Please help me out :)

BTW: On My Computer-Advanced-Performance settings- I adjusted it all for best performance.

Hello Mal-function,

I apologise for the delay, the forum is busy.

If you still need help, post a new HijackThis log.

Be sure you let HijackThis finish scanning and then post the report.
The old one you posted was up to 017 line.

It should end at 023 lines. ;)

Due to lack of response, this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
