Windows XP - connection problems, SmitFraudFix fails

Unread postby aeon » August 2nd, 2008, 5:57 pm

Tried to follow instructions in viewtopic.php?f=11&t=32709&p=326591
but SmitFraudFix fails when trying to run it - says windows 2000/xp required, even though this is XP.

When logging on, it says userinit.exe failed, and just sits there; if I bring up process manager with ctrl-alt-del, and manually start an 'explorer' task, it brings up the windows desktop gui.

Please help...

Due to Lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
