I need professional help to repair my computer & get settings back to where they were. E Machines, model3410. Got infected from a bad download, I think. I have much of it repaired, myself, but still need a professional to help me. I am not very computer savy, but try my best . By running AVG, Trend & other anti-virus software, malware removal , I found Vundo variant, several other Trojans , etc. Right now, my scans continue to show computer doesn't show anything . Hi Esteban

If you already have SDFix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

  1. Please download SDFix by AndyManchesta and save it to your desktop.
  2. Double click on SDFix.exe. By default, it will install to C:\.
  3. Click on Install.

Please print out or save this set of instructions as you will not have internet access during the fix.

Next, boot into Safe Mode.

:!: Let me know if you can't boot into Safe Mode. Do not continue with the fixes.

  1. When you see BIOS screen, start pressing F8.
  2. A boot menu will appear shortly.
  3. Using the up down arrows, select Safe Mode and press the Enter key.
  4. Windows will now load.
  5. Log in to your usual account.
  6. Navigate to C:\SDfix (if you installed it to the default location, otherwise, locate where you installed it)
  7. Double click on RunThis.bat
  8. Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  9. It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  10. Press any key to reboot.
  11. When the PC restarts the tool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  12. Once the desktop icons load, the SDFix report will open on screen. You can also find the report in SDFix folder, named Report.txt.

Hi

Looks better :)

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
  • Please post contents of that file in your next reply.

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  1. Close all applications and windows.
  2. Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  4. Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post.

Hi

Yes it looks better :)

  • Click Start and then Run to bring up the Run box.
  • Copy and paste the contents of this quote box into the run box:
    "%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /daft
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK to the prompt from Deckard's System Scanner.
  • Click Scan.
  • Place a tick next to the following entries (if they are present).
    .cpl
    .reg
    .scr
  • Click Fix

Open HijackThis, click do a system scan only and checkmark these:

O2 - BHO: Yahoo! Toolbar Helper - {02478D38-C3F9-4EFB-9B51-7695ECA05670} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn\yt.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E9C9F508-F46D-4984-8562-DD8194869665} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\khffgedE.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F5DAECB6-D5F2-4478-B008-97F2CADA0F4B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\rqRJCSLC.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn\yt.dll (file missing)

Close all windows including browser and press fix checked.

Go to Start > Run
Type regedit and click OK.

  • On the leftside, click to highlight My Computer at the top.
  • Go up to "File > Export"
    • Make sure in that window there is a tick next to "All" under Export Branch.
    • Leave the "Save As Type" as "Registration Files".
    • Under "Filename" put backup
  • Choose to save it to C:\ or in somewhere else safe location so that you will remember where you put it (don't put it on the Desktop!)
  • Click Save and then go to File > Exit.

Open Notepad and copy the contents of the following box to a new file.

Code: Select all
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
"Authentication Packages"=hex(7):6d,73,76,31,5f,30,00,00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\a0328daf]

Save it as fix.reg (save type: "All files" (*.*)) to your desktop.

It should look like this -> Image

Go to Desktop, double-click fix.reg and merge the infomation with the registry.

(In case you are unsure how to create a reg file, take a look here with screenshots.)

Reboot.

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    Code: Select all
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\CLSCJRqr.ini2
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Edegffhk.ini2

  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to Move" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Re-run dss.

Hi

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

  1. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
  2. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
  3. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
  4. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
      Archives
  5. Click on My Computer under Scan.
  6. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
  7. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
  8. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
  9. Please post this log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Looking much better right now. Time, is taskbar is still " military time." 14:02. But, when trying to adjust it, the date & adjust window shows 2:02. I did get a window , Adobe Flash Player, asking me , " Do you want to install this hardware??? " I will also have to see if it will let me install the Windows Office SP#, which it would not before. It kept asking for the Code Key, which I supplied, but it would not accept it. May have to buy a new W.Office program.

Hi

My bad, we haven't used combofix.

You should be able to change time format at that case from clock settings.

I may have it set right now. I can live with military time, if not. What about installing Adobe Flash Reader, like the window asked? I thought all Adope programs were on here. Also, do I need to delete the programs we used. Thanks a lot !!
