I ran a scan on the registry on-ine and it said that i had a couple of hundred of infected registries (forgot the exact number :()
maybe it was a scam, i'm not sure though.

what would you recomend as for keeping my comp. clean and protected. The only thing i got running is the free version of AVG. <--- is this a good program?

thx

Hi

Yes, sounds like a scam to me.

Can you give me name of that program?

AVG is fine as an antivirus, I give you a bit later tips for other security programs :)

hi, I think i was registryfix.com or somewhere around the area.

where after the scan had finished the report showed that i had a couple of hundred infected registries and I needed to enter a code to fix those registries. I didn't had the code to put in so I cancelled it.

Is registry clean up neccessary? how is it differ from malware clean up. sorry I know so little about this area. :(

thx

Hi

I give you them a bit later, let's first update java:

Please download JavaRa and unzip it to your desktop.

  • Double-click on JavaRa.exe to start the program.
  • Click on Remove Older Versions to remove the older versions of Java installed on your computer.
  • Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
  • A logfile will pop up. Please save it to a convenient location.

Then download and install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.

Post back javara log, please.

hi, no issues so far but still a little slow specially on start up and running a program. i've ready disable most of the items on 'start up' under 'msconfig' the only items i left running on it was AVGtray, NvCpl and justched.

it seems like my comp its working really hard to get a program started. i usually had to wait 4-8 sec. sometimes more to get a program started. when checking the perfomance, it showed that the CPU @100%, memory at 20%.

thx

Due to lack of response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
