Unread postby nuggen » July 9th, 2008, 8:30 am

alright heres the problem'
when i log into my account on my computer the task bar and desktop icons don't automatically start up so i have to manually start explorer.exe using the task manager

after i have done that an i con comes up sayin RUNDLL32.EXE this application failed to intialize (0xcoooooo5). click ok to terminate the application. so i click ok and the exact thing comes up atleast ten times the only thing changed is that the cases are different in the word rundll32.exe

and even worse sometimes after have done that another thing comes up sayin WINDOWS SCRIPT HOST c:\documents and settings\nganehu\local settings temp\.tt2c.temp.vhs" nad then the creen turns blue and there white writing all over the screen. 1 line says something is wrong with the computer and system will restart to prevent damage or something like that and it restarts but as its restartin i can see my task bar so i open the task manager and it covers the whole screen and theres an application running called screen saver, i end that task and it goes back to normal showing my desktop but the wallpaper has changed and it says:
Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer

also i cant acess my control panel it says the exxact same thing rundll32.exe his application failed to intialize (0xcoooooo5). click ok to terminate the application. and i cant acess my command prompt basically i can acess anything that will let me remove a virus although recently installed applications do work

Welcome to Malware Removal.

Sorry for the delay. The forums have been busy.

I've some bad news for you. :(

Your computer has multiple infections, including a backdoor. A backdoor gives intruders complete control of your computer, logs your keystrokes, steal personal information, etc.

You are strongly advised to do the following:

  • Disconnect the computer from the Internet and from any networked computers.
  • Back up all your important data except programs. The programs can be reinstalled back from the original disc or from the Net.
  • Call all your banks, financial institutions, credit card companies and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and put a watch on your accounts. If you don't mind the hassle, change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change all your passwords (ISP login password, your email address(es) passwords, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, Amazon, online groups and forums and any other online activities you carry out which require a username and password).

Do NOT change your passwords from this computer as the attacker will be able to get all the new passwords and transaction records.
