Victim - please help - task manager disabled, popups, etc

Hello. Please forgive my ignorance if this is the incorrect forum. My computer overheats, causing reboot, my time during each boot is severely limited.

I have been infected with one or more malicious softwares that have:

-Made internet explorer pop up windows automatically,

-System Tray icons that tell me my computer has been infected, selling "scanners". Malware selling malware, which scares the daylights out of me.

-Task Manager has been disabled. :( If I attempted to use Task Manager, a windows alert would tell me "Task Manager has been disabled by computer administrator". Googling, ive managed to find the command to enter in [start] - [run] that adds a registry entry (or something like that) that corrects the changed value preventing me from using Task Manager. The effect is temporary, however. I find Task Manager is blocked after each reboot.

-Mozilla automatically opens windows, when ran.

-Computer is extremely slow.

Here is the highjackthis logfile:

Hi! Welcome to the MWR forums.
My name is Scotty. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research.

Please be patient as my posts to you have to be checked before I reply, so they make take longer.

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

Hi

If you already have Combofix, please delete that copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

There is a tutorial on the basic use of Combofix here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please download Combofix from Bleeping Computer.

If you can't download it from there, please try these 2 alternative sites:

Forospyware
Geeks to Go

  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet.
  • Click on this LINK to see how to disable Symantec/Norton
  • Click Start>Run copy/paste or type "%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall into the Run box and click OK.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

In your next reply post:
ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log taken after the above scan has run

Due to Lack of response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
