Let's clear out the programs we've been using to clean up your computer, they are not suitable for general malware removal and could cause damage if used inappropriately.


  • Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.


Congratulations you are clean! :)
Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

Disable and Enable System Restore. - You should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.


  1. Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
  2. Select the System Restore tab.
  3. Check (tick) Turn off system restore on all drives box.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart your computer.

After restarting your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
  2. Select the System Restore tab.
  3. Uncheck (untick) Turn off system restore on all drives box.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart your computer.

Note: Do this only ONCE, don't flush it regularly.

Re-enable system restore with instructions from tutorial above.

Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.
(Vista users must ensure that any programs are Vista compatible BEFORE installing)

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.5.2
Download it from here. Just choose a mirror and off you go.

Install MVPS Hosts File from here
The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system.
You can use one of these sites to check if any updates are needed for your pc.

Just 1 problem though, evertime i go too windows updates and i have the icon downloading updates in my Tray, when it scans for updates i get the reply ,Website has caused a problem , therefore i cant download updates.any ideas please. thanks

This can happen sometimes when you have manual updates selected,when automatic updates are selected the problem usually goes away.

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Security centre>Automatic Updates
  2. Select Automatic (recommended) radio button if you want the updates to be downloaded and installed without prompting you.

i have it already set too auto update ,but just for curiosity i went too help /supoert clicked on upates,and the same message appeared as in my last pos :) t... will it still be ok even though ive clicked on Auto updates. Also everytime i boot up i get theyellow update icon saying updates available but it stays on 0%

Hi swanny ,
What sort of internet connection do you have?
If you have dial-up then i suspect the update is windows xp sp3 and can take 12 hrs to download on dial-up,hence the 0% showing .
Please let me know.

Im on broadband virgin, via a modem ,installed near my set top box,that a cable goes from the set top box direct too my pc. then goes into my router ,too enable my son too use his laptop but the laptop wont pick up the connection anymore,was ok a while ago ,even tho his laptop is wireless configured.

Hi swanny,
It appears that your update issue has been an ongoing problem,While you have xpsp2 you have no other significant patches downloaded.

I think the best solution would be to contact microsoft to validate your operating system so that the updates will run. You also may wish to contact a website specializing in this kind of problem :
