Well,
Programs seem to be opening a little bit quicker, and from what I can tell the computer boots a bit quicker as well. Somehow though, something is still turning off my McAfee protection from time to time. The only patterns Ive noticed for this so far is that it almost always happens when my comp sleeps, or hibernates, but there are some times when Ill be using a program and get a notification that "My computer isnt protected". So Im not sure if thats related but its still a bit unnerving. Is there any way to find out how thats happening? Thanks a bunch for the help

Would like to run another scan to have a better look at the system :)

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post. in your reply

Have not forgot you, I want a colleague to look over the log also.
I can't see anything too much that would give you your issue with your a\v :)

Did "McAfee" come budled with your pc when you bought it?

Few questions for you if you could give me a reply regarding issue with Mcafee,
as well as my last post to you.

1)Is it actually Mcafee that gives the warning?
2)Or is it Windows security centre ?
3)Is Mcafee switched off when you look?
4)It could be the security centre notify settings that need looking at!

Well, McAfee didn't come on my PC, however it was provided through my ISP, Comcast. As far as the warning's, Im pretty sure it is McAfee that gives the warnings. Ill come back to my computer after leaving the offices for a couple hours and wake it up, and a little red circle(some times a yellow circle with an exclamation point) with an X inside is on the system tray, when I click it it opens McAfee where I find a alert saying "Your files are not protected"(some times, my e-mail and spyware protection is off as well) then a fix button which resolves the issue temporarily.

Thanks a bunch again for you help,

Was McAfee a trial that you got from your isp?
Check that it has not expired. Expired security products can prompt Windows Security Centre to prompt.

Did you check that it was compatible with vista? as some needed upgrades
I found this here not sure if it will help though. :)
How long have you had the issue, did you have it at the beginning when you bought the machine?
Just thinking out load :)
