I see that at BC they decided not to assist you any more.

This is a corporate machine - you SHOULD inform the IT department.

When a company machine is involved there is more to consider than just getting a machine clean.

1.
To make sure it does not happen again the IT department needs to make sure the machine is locked down so that additional programs cannot be installed without their knowledge, which means using a XP pro machine not a XP home version, and using limited user accounts for the users of the machine. Sometimes with some programs that is not possible, but always desirable.

2.
The data on the machine is much more valuable than the machine itself. If that data is compromised it could lead to data protection issues, even things that could be of a regulatory nature for disclosure to police etc.

I would strongly urge you to take their advice.

Closing topic.
