Let me know how it goes. There are a few "mysterious files" on there, but they may be related to Folding@Home, so I'm not addressing them yet.

Just so you know, your CCleaner link is broken. I happen to have a downloaded copy already on my computer, but just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks.
They must have just pulled it. It is(was) the version that doesn't ask to install the Yahoo Toolbar.
Edit : New URL is here for it: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds ... ading-slim

Platinum,
We will get rid of it.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Stop Processes Prior to Deletion
Close ALL open windows. Use Ctrl-Alt-Delete together to bring up the task manager.
Under the processes tab, if it is visible, check the box 'Show processes from all users'.
One at a time, highlight each of these that are listed and "End Process":

Blaero Start Orb.exe

Verify that the process is gone.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Folder Deletion
In Windows Explorer (My Computer), navigate to each folder shown below, highlight the folder if found, and press Delete.

C:\Documents and Settings\CSKONB~1\Local Settings\Temp\{A38D9AA2-9485-4D55-B929-26F646A0E378}\ <==CSKONB~1 is whatever is your Username

In the case of a folder removal, you may have to first open the folder, choose View, Details, and delete all the underlying files and folders before an entire folder can be deleted.
If you need to delete underlying files in a folder and are unable to do so:
Right click the file set for deletion, and check Properties to see if it's read-only. Uncheck the read-only box, click Apply and OK. Then retry Delete.
If a message pops up saying "File in use", or something like that, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and look under the Processes tab. If the exact filename is in there, highlight it and click End Process, then retry Delete.
Please Note the name and location of any item you cannot delete, or any file not found.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Run CCleaner Cleaning Scan.
If it's not already running, Start CCleaner.
Click on the Cleaner block on the left. Choose the Windows tab.
Click the Run Cleaner button. When CCleaner shows how much has been removed, cleaning is finished.
Exit CCleaner by clicking on the X button in the upper right of the CCleaner window.
-----------------------------------------------------
Using Internet Explorer, Please Do an Online Scan with Kaspersky WebScanner.
Go here to run an online scannner from Kaspersky.
  • Click on "Kaspersky Online Scanner"
  • A new smaller window will pop up. Press on "Accept". After reading the contents.
  • Now Kaspersky will update the anti-virus database. Let it run.
  • Click on "Next">"Scan Settings", and make sure the database is set to "extended". And check both the scan options. Then click OK.
  • Then click on "My Computer", and the scan will start.
  • Once finished, save the log to your Desktop as filename KAV.txt and Post it in a reply

OK, well during the scan I realized it was also scanning my network drives I have mapped to my computer. So I interrupted the scan after it was done with my C: drive.

Platinum,
Go to your HiJackThis folder. It's here: C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\
Right click on HiJackThis.exe and rename it reveal.exe

Remove OUTER INFO
-----------------------------------------------------------
Use Add/Remove Programs In Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :

Oin
any name "by Oin"
Yazzle
YazzleActiveX

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into Keeping the program.

If you can't find OIN listed in Add/Remove Programs, try to run the OIN Uninstaller from here : http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe

In any Case, Reboot your computer, Use My Computer to navigate to C:\Program Files\ and delete any of the following folders still present.
C:\Program Files\Yazzle\
C:\Program Files\YazzleActiveX\
C:\Program Files\Purityscan\
C:\Program Files\Snowballwars\
C:\Program Files\Cowabanga\
C:\Program Files\Zolero\
C:\Program Files\Tizzletalk
C:\Program Files\MediaTickets
C:\Program Files\Anything labeled "by OIN"\

Also using My Computer, navigate to and delete these two files:
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWA7P_0001_N91M0809NetInstaller.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Yazzle1281OinAdmin.exe
-----------------------------------------------------------
Run CCleaner Cleaning Scan.
Start CCleaner.
Click on the Cleaner block on the left. Choose the Windows tab.
Click the Run Cleaner button. This process could take a while. When CCleaner shows how much has been removed, cleaning is finished.
Exit CCleaner by clicking on the X button in the upper right of the CCleaner window.
------------------------------------------------------------
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix will encounter a file it cannot remove.
In that case, VundoFix will run on reboot. Simply repeat the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis (reveal.exe) log.

Alright, before I post the logs I'll let you know the only thing I found in the Add/Remove Programs list was OuterInfo and I was unable to find any of the folders/files you told me to delete. I also changed the setting to view hidden files and folders, so they aren't hidden either.

Anyway, here's the vundofix log and HJT log...

platinum,
I am presuming that you DID use the OIN Uninstaller from Add/Remove?.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
(Some of these lines may be missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5D4993F4-18B1-4AAA-BDE8-85385D030409} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturs.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSScheduler] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe" -start
O20 - Winlogon Notify: igfxcui - igfxsrvc.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: jkkjigf - jkkjigf.dll (file missing)

Unless you know that yourself or an an administrator set restrictions on IE, check this one also.
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Submit a file to Jotti
Please go here : http://virusscan.jotti.org/
On top of the page there is a field to add the filepath.
Copy and paste this filepath:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\saymmnds.exe

Then hit Submit or Upload, depending on the scanner.
The scan will take a while before the result comes up so please be patient.
Then copy and/or save the result and post it here in this thread.

If Jotti's service load is too high, you can use the following scanner instead:
http://www.virustotal.com/xhtml/index_en.html
or virus.org here: http://scanner.virus.org/
------------------------------------------------------------
Update your Java.
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.
  • Close any programs you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
  • Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment, JRE, J2SE, or Java Webstart in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all installed versions of Java.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment(JRE), and install it to your computer. It is the fourth one down on the page, called Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 2
Download it, choose save, and save it to your desktop. Then doubleclick it, and it will install the newest version of Java for you to use.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HJT Log
Reboot your computer. Start HijackThis.(reveal.exe). Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply. Please also post the results from Jotti, and any other notes on OIN, etc.

platinum,
Yep, that's bad.
Print this out or write down the file to be deleted and its location, as you won't have Internet in Safe Mode.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Stop, Disable and Delete A Service
Go to Start, Run OR Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find the service.

DomainService

Click once on the service to highlight it.
Right-Click on the service. Click on Properties
Select the General tab.
Next to Service Status, click Stop.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side of the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Disabled
Click Apply , then OK

Delete the Service
Open HiJackThis. Click on Config, Misc Tools, Delete an NT Service
Type DomainService in the space provided (notice it's all one word) and click OK.
The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept.
REBOOT into SAFE MODE. Tap F8 repetitively as soon as it beeps, and choose Safe Mode from the menu.
Sign in to your usual account.
Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):
C:\WINDOWS\System32\saymmnds.exe
REBOOT back into Normal Mode
-----------------------------------------------------------
Post a New HJT Log
Start HijackThis (reveal.exe). Click Do System Scan and Save a Log File.
When the Scan is complete, select the whole log (Ctrl-A), copy and paste the log contents in a reply.

Alright... Well the service wasn't started to begin with so I didn't have to stop it. I disabled it, and went to delete the service but was told "The service you entered is system-critical! It can't be deleted." So I couldn't delete the service. I was able to delete the file no problem. Here's the new log...

platinum,
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove log items with HighjackThis. Start HijackThis.
Click Do System Scan Only. When the Scan is complete, Check the following entries:
This "Update" doesn't replace versions like it should, Worthless.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_02\bin\jusched.exe"
Don't let old Java versions hang around, even if they are not being used. If you see an old one in Add/Remove programs, Remove it. Check these:
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0014-0000-0000-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Runtime Environment 1.4.0) -
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0002-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1_02) -

Make sure Every other window except HJT is closed (No other tabs showing in the bottom tray), and Click Fix Checked.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Install SpywareBlaster If You don't Already Have It. - SpywareBlaster will add a large list of programs and sites to your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from accidentally running or downloading known malicious programs. Available from http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
After the installation, click Download Latest Protection Updates. When it finishes, click Enable All Protection.

You should be good to go.
