My desktop is all messed up, theres a picture, like a link to a website. The only ads I get are for programs to remove malware, this is ironic. I have used S&D, Ad-aware SE, and A2. I am downloading TrojanHunter right now, but since my download speed is pretty slow, I decided to post this first. Anyway, here's my hijackthis.log:

Hi

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you
will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/l ... areout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make
sure Run fixit is checked and click Finish. The fix will
begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer;
please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is
normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of
the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt

______________

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Image

______________________________

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:
C:\rapport.txt

Logs to be posted:
-contents of C:\fixwareout\report.txt file
-contents of C:\rapport.txt file
-a fresh hjt log

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a
    keyboard error
    message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.
______________________________

While in Safe Mode, my keyboard doesn't work, so I cannot log in. I will get rid of password and try it again, but if you know a solution to this off the top of your head, that would be great. Thanks.

Keyboard works fine now in safe mode.

After clicking on Apply all Actions, there is no option for save report. The button is grayed out and clicking on it anyway does nothing. I will edit this post after reboot and give the reports that I can get.

Everything seems back to normal, except that when I first log on it tells me that the wireless network does not connect, even though it does. This is not a big deal, unless you know of a reason it would be, it does not bother me very much at all. Thank you for your help!

Hi

Did you leave "Automatically generate report after every scan" unselected? Selecting it will result to disabled report saving button. I doubt that I could help with that wireless issue.

Quite good. Something still left to do.

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer
  • Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
  • If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu
    select
    Advanced Mode
  • On the left hand side, click on Tools
  • Then click on the Resident icon in the list
  • Uncheck
    Resident TeaTimer
    and OK any prompts.
  • Restart your computer

Start hjt, click do a system scan only, check:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - (no file)

O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} - http://www.popcap.com/games/popcaploader_v6.cab

Close all browsers & other windows. Click fix checked.

Show hidden files
-----------------
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Delete following files if found:
C:\windows\qnxplugin.dll
C:\Documents and settings\Frost\Local settings\Temp\~DPE4.dll

Post a fresh hjt log.
