Hi,

We've found the link to your topic already:
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/ind ... pic=3673.0

Step 1: Run Blacklight
Now use Blacklight in exactly the same way as before, but when it shows the list of the items found, select each entry and choose to let Blacklight rename them by clicking the Rename button.
  • Next to each entry, rename should appear.
  • Click Next.
  • Blacklight will give you a warning if you are sure. Click Yes
  • Then it will tell you: Your computer will reboot now
  • Click Yes.
Step 2: Download and Run BFU
Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.
  • Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
  • Click Next
  • In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
  • Click Browse
  • Click on the + sign next to My Computer
  • Click on Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
  • Click Make New Folder
  • Type in BFU
  • Click Next, and Uncheck the Show Extracted Files box and then click Finish.
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose Save As (in IE it's Save Target As) in order to download EGDACCESS Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as aftermath.bfu
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (C:\BFU) and set Filetype to All files

RegDeleteKey HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\rvaeimqtxb
RegDelValue HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run|rvaeimqtxb
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\rvaeimqtxb.exe
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\rvaeimqtxb.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\rvaeimqtxb_nav.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\rvaeimqtxb_navps.dat
FileDelete %SYSDIR%\rvaeimqtxb_m2s.xml
FileDelete %WINDIR%\rvaeimqtxb.exe-*.pf

Then, please go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.
  • Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by doubleclicking BFU.exe
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon Image and select EGDACCESS.bfu
  • Press Execute and let it do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Behind the scriptline to execute field click the folder icon Image again and this time select aftermath.bfu
  • Press Execute and let it do it’s job.
  • Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
  • Press exit to terminate the BFU program.
Step 3: Remove bad HijackThis entries
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on the Scan button
  • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Eqcoolboldglobal] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\bone kind eq cool\2 HTM.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Multi Seek] C:\DOCUME~1\Hannah\APPLIC~1\AMENGR~1\Obj tick vc.exe

  • Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
  • Click on the "Fix Checked" button
  • When completed, close the application.
Step 4: Show your hidden files
To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps:
  • Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
  • Double-click on the My Computer icon (or click Start, then select My Computer)
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • After the new window appears select the View tab.
  • Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
  • Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
  • Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
  • Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.
Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.

Step 5: Delete bad folders
Use Explorer to navigate to and delete the following folders (if present):

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bone Kind Eq Cool

C:\Documents and Settings\Hannah\Application Data\Amengriduser

Now just exit Explorer.

Step 6: Reboot and Post a fresh HijackThis log
Also tell me about problems/questions.

Greets, John.

Hi,

Seems like LOP is gone :) You did a great job!

Please copy the fix to Notepad/Word, or print it, because you won't always have internet access!

Step 1: Boot into Safe Mode
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.

Step 2: Run BFU

Step 3: Reboot and Post a fresh Hijackthis log

Ok John

here's a puzzle for you.
this computer will not start in safe mode.
press F8 and get to start in safe mode - enter
operating system only option windows XP - enter
get to log in page - select account - log in
reverts back to start up page so press F8 and start again.
if i log in and let it run it continues and starts in normal mode

i have been trying for an hour!!!

suggestions?

Hi,

Lets try it another way.

Step 1: Stop some process with Task Manager
Press Control+Alt+Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following process (if present):

rvaeimqtxb.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished.

Step 2: Run BFU

Step 3: Reboot and Post a fresh Hijackthis log

Click on the Processes tab and end the following process (if present):

Just read it, 'if present', so if it's not there you can just go on. Please don't thing about everything three or four times. We've written our fixes so that everybody will understand and not bork their pc!

Hi,

It looks like the infection is still active...

Please copy the fix to Notepad/Word, or print it, because you won't always have internet access!

Step 1: Download and run AVZ
Download avz4en.zip here
Unzip it to a folder on your desktop
Double click on AVZ.exe
Click on the file tab and then click on System recovery
Put a checkmark next to Restore SafeBoot registry keys
Click on Execute selected operations

Step 2: See if you can boot in Safe Mode
If you can't then tell me, if you can please go on with the next steps.

Step 3: Run BFU

Step 4: Reboot and Post a fresh Hijackthis log

Hi,

Step 1: Download and run Killbox
Download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop

Double-click Killbox.exe to run it.

Select "Delete on Reboot".
Place the following line (complete path) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox:
C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb.exe
Put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot"
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.
If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Step 2: Delete bad files
Use Explorer to navigate to and delete the following files (if present):

C:\windows\rvaeimqtxb.exe-*.pf

C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb.exe
C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb.dat
C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb_nav.dat
C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb_navps.dat
C:\windows\system32\rvaeimqtxb_m2s.xml

Now just exit Explorer.

Step 3: Reboot and Post a fresh Hijackthis log

Greets, John.
