Hello

I'm a beginner at this computer stuff but I can't afford to take my computer to a shop again to get cleaned.
I think I have a big mess on my hands and its getting worse as I go so i'll let you know what my situation is.
The other day I tried loading a McAfee Total Protection 2007 program on my computer. I had previously downloaded the month trial and as it was loading it didn't load the virus pack and security center. It said that I had newer versions already loaded. This was bothering me so I tried to uninstall everything involving McAfee and then it didn't uninstall everything and the settings on my computer got messed up. For example when I enter the add/remove programs window nothing shows up, its just blank.
For the last couple days I have been reading forums and trying to figure out whats up but I can't come to any conclusions.
I have downloaded a couple different programs to get rid of junk but nothing seems to help.
The reason that I think its MalWare is because my computer refuses to let me go to some websites. Pretty much all the websites that would let me get help. Like AVG and the McAfee website.
Through all my troubles I have found out that I have some registry keys affected and there was something about Internet Explorer.
I also need an unzipping program so that I can get the HijackThis program. I tried the Winzip program but my computer will not let me open the program. I found this with a couple other programs too.
I have no idea where to begin.
Hopefully this is enough information for someone to help me out.
Thank you in advance
Kevin

Hi ksp683!

Sorry for the delay in a reply. You've replied to your own topic a few times so it kind of looks like you're being helped. In the future... try not to do that.

Anyways... it been a few days since you've posted a HJT log and something may have changed since then. If you still require help can you post a new log for me please.

Thanks!
